There are many reasons I hunt. I love the outdoors and spending time with my family and we all hunt. Most of all I would much rather harvest my own animal than buy it in the store!! Meat is so pricey in the store not to mention do you know what meds were put into that cow or pig before it was butcherd? This way I know the animals were not pumped full of crap to fatten up they are not stressed from loading up in trailers and being pushed threw in the auctions. Plus the more animals I/we shoot the less accidends on the road! We are helping everyone! Ha ha Why did you get into hunting:laugh:

My boyfriend hunts and I wanted to learn how to spend time with him. I love shooting a bow, hiking and camping. I enjoy the thrill you get when you see a deer. I love being outdoors, in the cold, rain and snow. In fact, I prefer the cold to the heat. The peace and quiet of the woods, the sounds of leaves falling to the ground. Learning the difference between a squirrel running through the leaves and an approaching deer. In my tree stand this year, I saw the sun come up and all of a sudden, it sounded like it was raining. It was the morning sun melting away the frost. I've watched chipmunks scurry about, listened to woodpeckers and hawks. I've heard coyotes. I've taken pictures of bobcat prints, turkey prints, beautiful sunsets, and butterflies. I can tell a scrape and a rub and spot deer prints. I can find and follow a deer trail and know where they've been bedding. I've learned how to tell old tracks from new. I feel the wind now and think about the direction its coming from. I've learned so much about nature and life from hunting. Everyday is a new adventure, it never gets boring.

I love the strategies involved in closing the distance, the amazing places and animals even in one's backyard. I love the food and cooking the food. We have been fortunate to hunt in a number of places and most of all I love the north, but really pretty much anywhere here in B.C. is interesting, and it varies so much.

I do it for the adrenalin rush. Even if I am just sitting watching some does come in, it is a thrill for me to be only a few yards from them without getting busted. I also love the meat. My husband and I hunt enough so that we do not have to buy any meat throughout the year. And let's not forget a beautiful mount for the wall.

Because i love the outdoors, I love the peace and quiet, I love the rush of the hunt, I love seeing all the animals and the challenge of getting a nice animal. The statagy making and time and energy that it takes to set up a good hunt. All that, that gets me out of the house and into nature, it is not all about the kill, its about being there !!
