Hello, all!
I have just gotten into the sport, and have been talking to more than just a few local bowhunters....it seems that I have caught the "itch", as it were (much to the chagrin of my wife, no less!!)..
T'annyrate, I was looking for information on hunting in Alberta- specifically bowhunting. Where can I take the Hunter's course (don't know what it's called here...sorry), and I need information regarding crossbows (seasons, game allowed, etc...)...
And last, but not least, I need information on dressing game- or a reputable butcher in the Edmonton area that would be able to handle dressing a deer, or an elk- large game, in other words.
Any information or assistance would be more than appreciated!!
Thanks!
Pete.

Pete,
Please drop me a line when you get a chance. I am the New and Youth Bowhunter Coordinator for the ABA and I can get you started right. There are a number of programs to get you trained and prepared for the 2009 season.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Keep safe
Jeff

The best method for finding hunting spots is to spend a lot of time at the range, show the other guys pictures of small deer so they will feel sorry for you, buy them a few beer, and when they go to the washroom 'borrow' their GPS out of their truck and copy down the coordinates.
