My sources have told me that the Minister's office expect to make an announcement next week. (June 2 - 6) It is believed that a large portion of the province will be open to Sunday Hunting with the exception to the 100 WMU's.

This is great news for all hunters and in particular to our youth hunters.

The announcement has already been made...it's in the 08 draw booklet.

Sunday hunting is allowed province wide except for the 100's and also in the 400 - 414...they're only allowing Sunday hunting from Nov.1/08 - Nov.30/08.

Other than that...During the open season in all 200, 300, 400 and 500 WMU's and 841 are Sunday hunting.

Thanks for that Scooter, I did not know. Look for the Minister to make it official next week. Then it will appear on SRD web site.

About Time Alberta Gov pulled their head outta their collective Butts and opened sunday hunting .... I cant think of a more Family oriented sport/pastime than getting out to the woods for a hunt .....
Beats the hell off plopping ones butt down infront of the TV and/or the Xbox

Some of the best news going for all hunters. I find it amazing that the users of BOWZONE.CA don't have much to say. Too many people take hunting for granted. Thanks to all the people that were involved in making this happen.

Is "Sunday Hunting" good for you?

I for one, am very pleased to hear this, however seeing as how my scheduled days off are always during the week, this won't benefit me as much as others. Even still, It's nice when SRD makes a decision which actually makes sense.

I'm very pleased about hte sunday hunting.... Working all week doesnt give oen much time to get out, especially in the late part of november.... Now I dont have to make the choice on a Saturday Morning between deer hunting or goose hunting..... Now I can do both each weekend..... Gotta love it!

For those who dont agree with it, then you dont have to go on Sundeays, but I bet you do! ;)

Great to have a muzzleloader season just not going to be easy down this way to get permission to go after the deer after the slaughter last year

While it's nice to have an ML season I wish it would have been put into December with the finish of the last rut. If you think the centerfire guys moaned about us bowhunters stirring things up. Just wait until the ML boys get done! Especially with the modern rigs, 250 yds isn't a problem. The only real limiting factor is the speed you can load these babies at.
