Photo show some of the elk drops I picked up, in the last month, sitting at the front of my classroom. The other photo shows the kids (5's & 6's)holding up the antlers after they have had a lesson in elk antler biology. The lesson was also math for they had to figure out # of points, length of main beam, all the G's and H's and record them on B & C score sheets and add'em up. The enthusiasm was (and always has been) terrific. The last one is - well - what it is! We must all do our part to keep the younger generation interested.

I think this is awesome, by doing this with the kids you do a great service to all outdoors enthusiasts, especially hunters and you are to be commended.
Beauty sheds there, we don't get to see those here in Ontario but we're working on it.

Thanks Bearcat,
I am in a special place here! I liken this area to the Serengeti and often have referred to it as such.To be able to demonstrate outdoor treasures to children is wonderful.
I agree that we all need to get the youngsters involved - of course not all of them will be - but those that are will be similar to those of us who love and understand things about the real outdoors.
