polaris no 4x4

Anybody know anything about a polaris 330 with the 4x4 not working I have checked for power to the wires going to the front dif. I have about 12 volts,but still no 4x4 is that an electro magnet type dif. I have not checked for continuity through the dif but will check today.

what year is it ?

does it have electric speedo .... I know on the older 500 sportmans ... ie:2000 ish there is a diode in the speedo that controls the 4wd ...that has a tendancy to crap it self

It's a 2003, 330 magnum with no speedo

When you are testing it for power are you using a chasis ground or the wire leading to the diff, or is it seperate hubs? I belive it is seperates on that model. The power will come on when the switch is actvated but it relies on the ground sorce to turn the hubs on and off. Otherwise it would be a full time for wheel drive and next to impossible to drive. If there is no ground you can by pass it and hook 12 volts directly to to the hubs to see if it is an internal failure. I have seen lots of the 22 gauge wires where the go into the hubs bust. I'll give that a try I have checked the continuity of the circuit througn the Dif. it doesn't have the separate hubs on this one it is through the dif. not sure if the is a ground in the wiring I did check through the chassis.
