That is frigging sickening. One would think that they are still subject to the safe hunting rules if not the seasons and bag limits. The problem is none of the D.N.R. people or the fish cops want to do anything, probably because of the politics involved with going after these people that disgrace their ancestoral image.

How is it that ontario indians are treaty hunting in sask ?? Even here in bc where we seem to give them anything they want . To hunt out of there traditional hunting grounds natives have to follow the game laws . And i am pretty sure no ontario mohawk ever walked to sask to hunt elk.

You know, I understand and empathize with Native issues in Canada!
I do!
However I believe that there is so often that the rights are abused and there should be harsh penalities for it as there is with us, nonnatives, for poaching!
I believe it should be established that treaty harvesters must be subject to freezer checks if they are caught hunting. One of my clients at work is native and his family just bought a meat cutting set up in a reefer trailer and that ****es me off!
I dont get how they are enabled to be abusing their rights!
