Tell us your stories. I ended up in the hospital on Friday afternoon, so it kinda blew my hunting plans all to hell. I did feel well enought to get out this evening, but all I saw was one coyote at 60 yds. How bout the rest of you?

I went out this evening for moose mainly. I was sneaking along a aspen and spruce ridge and saw something black at about 40 yards. I glassed it but still could not tell what it was. I thought it may have been a moose laying down but couldn't tell so I stacked in a little closer and could see it moving but could not see a head, just black. I glassed it again and then I seen this nice bear head come up. I moved into see how close I could get and lost sight of it for a few seconds and there it was at 20 yards facing me. I grabbed an arrow from the quiver and knocked it and he just stood there. I came to full draw and put my 20 yard pin on him, after a bit he slowly backed up and sat on his ass with his paws up and was broadside giving me the shot , but guess what ? I didn't buy my bear tag yet so the arrow stayed on the bow and he took a couple jumps and was gone. I would have liked to have had him, he was not super big but would have went between 200 and 300 pounds. He was so fat that his legs looked like they were only about 6 inches long and his belly was almost touching the ground. I will get my bear tag now but I bet that was my one and only chance for a bow bear, sucks eh?

Long weekend hunting was GREAT!! I got my first animal with a bow. A nice w-tail doe @40 yards.A solid hit high in ribs, broke one rib going in,took out one lung and lodged in her spine. She dropped in her tracks,no tracking or walking through heavy woods to recover.
Going back out on Thursday for the weekend after an Elk. :D :D :D

I did get out on Saturday with a buddy of mine from back home at the farm, we set up in a field and he had a doe decoy so we put that out in front of us and were ready for the deer to come up the river valleyand feed in the fields ahead of us. We saw a muley doe and a fawn that came up to 80 yards of the decoy but the wind had swithced on us and she snorted and jumped around a bit and then took off. we also had a bunch of other deer come up but probably 200 yards away, oh well mayeb next time we will get close enough.

Great job pink,
Its always great to get you first one under the belt.
I'm sad and happy all at once. This has been my best season ever.
Igot a little white tail buck.
I got a great mule buck,
And I slammed my doe last night .
And Dammit I'm outta tags.
And I won't have time to get out for elk this year.
Oh well can't complain, been a great season.
