I was wondering if anybody else had used aftermarket choke tubes??? I thought i was using a high end set up, i shoot a Bennelli super black eagle 2 and was very happy with it!!
After reading some articles and talking with people they all agree great gun but you can get more out of it with aftermarket chokes!! I was surprised, thought that the people that produce these weapons would supply the top end gear to go with?? Anyways after much debate and me parting with hard earned dollars i recieved my set of chokes from a company called pattern master read their directions and installed, off to the range i went!!!
OMG what a surprise i started with the full at 40 yards and my stock tubes were averaging 76% of the pellets in a 12" target when i went to the pattern master and exactly same shells out of same box my average went to 94%!!!! I was shocked spent 1800.00 on gun that came with their chokes and can only put 76% of the pellets on target put aftermarket on get 18% better results??? Shotshells are not cheap for quality ones, and with these new tubes i am sure i will see more geese on the ground this year for sure!!! I reccomend the pattern master tubes to anyone they are expensive but might change one cripple to a kill that is priceless !!!

Very true!.....

However since I went to a 10 gauge..... at least doubled the number of geese.... per box!....

Maybeit is just practice but it was funny when I went to steel it was harder to get geese on ground.... Now I love it now that I am used to its faster speed!....

Question I have is it possible that the shotguns could still be maximised for lead shot and the new choke tubes maxed for steel?

Yes Pattern Master says in their literature Maximum performance with Steel Shot!!!! I found that when lead became illegal i was like you switched to 10 guage, but with the 12 now i found that if you use quality shells with 1500+ FPS I hit every bit as hard as my 10 but don't get hit back LMAO!!! And now with these new chokes delivering 18% more pellets to target i should do even better!!!

My 10 does not kick as hard as my father-in-laws 12 gauge 3.5 inch light remington pump....

but the 14 lbs of gun may have something to do with it!..... although I did shoot straight up once!..... when shoulders hit the ground I realised it was not good!.....
