My family and I spent the weekend in Fairmont courtesy of my wife's boss, so I dod some walking and scouting and here are some animals I cam across.
I got to within 10 yards of these two rams.

On the way home, my wife spotted a grizzly along the tracks near Castle Junction. Much to her dismay, I put a stalk on it and managed to get to 40 yards before I crapped my pants and turned back. This was one BIG animal!!! What a rush! An hour later and I was still shaking!

That bear looks like it should be towing a train behind it. Great pictures Wookie.

He was definitely big enough to work for CN as a locomotive! It was a very eery feeling when he lifted his head and looked straight at me. I thought I had been really stealthy stalking to within 40 yards, but he knew exactly where I was.

Nice Pics Wookie!....
Just so you know.... a G bear can cross 200 yards in 10 seconds!.... (Twice as fast as Ben Johnson on roids)
40 yards about 1/5 of that----- 2-3 seconds!...... Instantaneous acceleration!....
Anyways just to make you shake a bit more!..... and I am sure she was not dismayed.... just looking at an order of wookie.... supersized, no fries no Coke!.... The blank look she is giving you!..... makes me shake!.....!......
They are an Awesome creature!.... I have had to shoot a few..... a couple in self defence and a few nuisance bears........I plan to hunt one someday!...... Only one!....
Most of the time... we have an agreement...... they leave me alone..... I leave them alone!.... except for the one!.... I plan to get a full mount done!.....
Thanks for sharing the Picture!.... Love to get the full size emailed to me signed by you!....(electronically)......
What an awesome animal!.......

To all who are concerned about my well being. Thank-you. But you need not worry. I thought this out well, and left myself with a couple of escape plans. I was in the edge of a 10 yard wide tree line. I could go up, or out the other side, to the open door of my truck.
I am now 100 miles from where I took the pictures and it is 24 hours later, and I am no worse for wear.
Yes it was exhilerating, a touch dangerous, and prolly not the smartest thing I have ever done, but a Grizz is one of the few animals I don't have pictures of and when I saw the opportunity, I calculated the risks and got my pictures.
