I have a gkf premier rest and just got a lizard tongue for it . how do you recommend setting it up ?---do you have it fall away early or just before the fletching ?--i have never used a fallaway just a TT or a wisker bisquit.

If you are using it for 3D I wold recomend not having it fall away.... i use a fall away on my hunting bow and while it is accurate... I find the launcher system better for 3D and Target.... look at how many 3D and Target Archers have theirs setup....
Just my thoughts..... Others?.......

It doesnt really matter when it falls, just make sure it falls fast enough or not to fast that it bounces back up and hits your fletching. If you dont have fletch contact, its good.

I have an old GKF 3D rover.... I have a launche blade on it now and I set the spring as soft as possble but still holds my 3D arrow upright before drawing. With my target aluminum arrows the rest cllapses and comes fully upright about 1/2 way back.... This setting seems to get me best results.
For a drop away I have a Trap door. This inertia activated (no cables) rest locks down once it drops so that it cannot bounce back up.... This can happen as douger mentioned and can cause all sorts of problems.... he Trap door is good but it needs to be checked/tuned periodically. I have not had trouble with mine.....
The other problem witha cable mounted system(mounts directly to cable) is that in can cause a miniscule amount of cable deflection--- affects wheel timing.... so mounting it to the cable slide is good... unless you have a mathews roller guard......
Now I started years ago with the TM hunter prongs.... whent to a wire loop for carbs--- to a blade style laucher for years and then a drop away and now back to a blade for 3D because I do find it a bit more consistant and foolproof....
As for the whisker biscuit... I find it one of the best ideas in archery.... Simple.... full capture.... tuneable..... excellent for hunting....
the reason I chimed in here was because I have used a drop away for 3D and after seeing what many people use for target..... lizard tongue non-drop away.. I have went back to mine as well and it is shooting excellent.....
I have found the drop away a good idea when hunting with larger fletches and small diameter arrows--- hard to ontact what is not there!.... And blade better for more controlled situations like 3D shooting...
