I am making the transition from wrist strap caliber to a handheld release.
The one that I like and want to use is my Tru-ball sabretooth. (I have a Solution 2.5 for practicing proper back tension with)
This is a thumb trigger and I have the spring set fairly have with minimal travel. Since I am just starting again with this I want to set my anchor up properly.
Specifically I want to know what part of hand is touching what part of face, If and where string contacts face.
I am also thinking of installing a kisser in order to help me ensure I am using the consistant anchor until it is embedded into my subconscious.

I don`t know if its right or not but i use my peep as the most important ancker point then i use the tip of my nose as the other.--- I think you just have to find what works for you.

I use a kisser button so the kisser goes to the corner of my mouth....nose goes on the string and my 2nd knuckle presses against my earlobe. If everything isn't correct I know it right away from the sight picture through the peep. Theory is, the more anchor points the better.

Thanks guys!
I use three things for anchor,
hand on face
nose on string
peep
(never used a kisser before)
What am looking for specifically is hand position on face because I can still get nose to string and move peep appropriately
Just looking for a starting point which is where hand is on face, and how hard into face this anchor is - is it touching lightly or buried into face?
wqbc - I appreciatte the second knuckle on earlobe! i will try this and see how it works.
I have used a handheld before but if I am going to use it exclusively I need to start out right.
Thanks!

To help me with this I looked at the many shoot pictures here on bowzone and looked at how a lot of people anchor.
When I practiced last night I tried wqbc's advice and also had my wife take digital photos of my anchor point - hard to see when I am shooting.
It looked like I was anchoring too high! So I moved peep up and tried some more shots until things felt better. When i finished my second knuckle was on my jawline just touching my earlobe. at this anchor i found the whole sight picture steadied up and everything was solid and back tension worked effectively. So I now have a kisser installed for the first time ever!
Time for some more blank baling! ThanKs Guys!

Hi buddy,
Im not sure if this will help any. I switched a while back to T handle releases and i found it more accurate and easier to use.
I have a Stan SuperX quattro and i adjusted the thumb trigger to fit up into the crack of my thumb so when i pull to full draw the string comes to the end of my nose, my eye is level with the peep sight hole my body is fully square, i turn my hand inside. I also hold the release at the second crack of my fingers and keep my hand straight as possible.
I anchor my hand just around my cheek and jaw. slowly put the triger into the crack of my thumb and squeez lightly and BAM it releases
i try to keep my hand in the same place. some people like to pull abckwards motion. The crck is good cause you dont PUNCH the trigger with your thumb
If you need some pics let me know i will get my gf to take some photos
Good luck
