4. 2007 Pan American Games Head Coach and Team Leader Positions
Please note that the High Performance Committee of the FCA is accepting applications for the following positions for the 2007 Pan American Games UNTIL SEPTEMBER 5, 2006:
1/ Head Coach – the Canadian Olympic Committee’s (COC) policy regarding coaching certification requires that all support staff who will assume coaching responsibilities and who will be accredited by the COC during the 2007 Pan American Games be fully certified at NCCP Level IV. However, under certain circumstances the FCA can apply for an exemption to this rule. Therefore, FCA will be accepting applications from coaches who have full NCCP level 3 certification, and who have completed at least 50% of their level 4/5 tasks. Approval of any coach nominated for this position by the FCA is subject to the COC’s discretion.
2/ Team Leader- Minimum NCCP level 2 coaching certification preferred.
The Pan American Games will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from July 13th through July 29th, 2007.
At this time FCA is unsure if there will be enough archers attending this event to warrant both of these positions, but interested applicants should forward their resumes to the FCA office for consideration before September 28th, 2006.
Once FCA has more details regarding the team size and number of support personnel allowed by the COC, we may require one or both of these positions. Since the support positions are funded by the COC, should they only allow one support person on this team, then FCA will not fund another support position.
More details will be released as they become available. If you have any questions, please contact the FCA Office.
Yours in archery,
Al Jenskey
Chair – High Performance Committee

TORONTO, June 12, 2006 — RBC Financial Group today announced the annual launch of its RBC Olympians Program, which provides Olympic and Paralympic athletes from across the country the chance to work and share their athletic experiences while continuing to compete and prepare for life after sport.
“The RBC Olympians Program understands what it takes to be a high-performance athlete - funding and a flexible work schedule - while at the same time, empowering me to develop the skills and knowledge to find a career after I retire from sport,” said Veronica Brenner, former RBC Olympian and 2002 Olympic Silver Medallist, Aerials. “I look forward to putting the skills I learned as an RBC Olympian to use.”
The athletes will act as community ambassadors, sharing their past experiences and current Olympic dreams with schools, community groups, RBC clients and employees.
