New to Saskatchewan

I am moving to Saskatchewan this summer (Dundurn) and I am really looking forwards to getting back into the bush.

I know the ranges are loaded with deer, but I was wondering about the area east of Rosthern (Circled). I am thinking about a property in the area to use as a cottage/hunting camp. But I need to do a bunch of research before I consider it more.

Once I get settled I am going to speak to surrounding land owners, and do a lot of scouting, but I thought I might as well ask here as well.

I would appreciate any info you have (without giving up your secret :cheers: ), who knows maybe you might find yourself a camp to use in the future there :D

I'd be happy to be a guinea pig hunter on any land you buy in Sask. Just let me know and I'll come down and hunt it and let you know if it is worth you hunting or not. Not something I offer to just anyone!!!

If your in dundurn you must be in the army?I lived in saskatoon for awhile and worked with a guy that lived there,he showed me pics of a nice whitetail he shot.He said that there were nice deer around there but the only thing that I would wonder about there is a reserve around there alot of the deer get shot year round and spooted really easy.

I seen your bow from a diff. article you posted, and I will recommend a different location that is ultimate for bow hunting if you are in to multi-species with a bow. About 45 miles north of Preecville, Sask. is a hunting community called Reserve. It used to be a town, but now houses about 200 hunting cabins; is situated in the middle of the commercial forest. You can hunt archery Moose,Elk, and whitetail all in the same week. Last year I shot my cow moose from 40 yards away with a 300 win mag. I wish I was a bow hunter at that time, it was an experience of my life to get that close to a big animal. There is always cabis for sale there, and the other nice part about hunting in that zone is the fact that you can use an atv to get around after 12:00 noon.
