I just bought an Apple Archery hydraulic bow press. (press # 0150). The problem is that I can not press my Hoyts on the limbs where they are supposed to be pressed. I have an '02 Cybertec and an '03 Ultratec. What should I do? I put the Cybertec into the press and the rollers are on the riser when I press it.http://www.applearchery.com/0150small_frame.jpg
This is not my bow, but this is where my Hoyts sit on the press. Not on the limbs.

My bow (PSE Carrera) sits in my press the way it is pictured. I can envisions a problem trying to place a Hoyt bow in that configuration. I suggest that you seek a refund and choose one of Apple Archery's center pull presses.

Contact Apple, they make an adapter for the press to allow you to properly press a bow as Hoyt recommends. Not doing so can result in a twisted riser.

Funny, I had my new Xtec at the shop today and the owner (A hoyt forever guy) pressed it by putting the rollers at the end of the riser, just like the picture. When I brought it up with him he replied that this method was an approved method by Hoyt. The center pull press is the press method not recommanded by Hoyt.

My own understanding after reading Hoyt warnings was that the supporting rollers and force applying rollers, both had to be pressing against inside and outside the limbs. No touching whatsoever of the riser.

Anyone in the know?

Hey Kevin! Welcome to the bowzone!!

I was just getting ready to post the same response...Guess I don't have to now. LOL!

I would post up in the Ask the Pro's section, and Al from Calgary Archery Centre can answer your question as well... I will send him a pm about this one...
