spring bear hunting

Does anyone know of good areas west of Edmonton, to hunt spring bear (no bait)? Thanks.

you should try around Nordegg. there are a lot of well/service roads with clear cuts if you take the Harlech turn off (the one after the campground)

Thanks for the tip, but I was thinking of somewhere a little closer to Edmonton, so I could run out for a Saturday hunt!

No kiddin eh? I was being serious, I hunted 2 weekends out there this spring and never saw 1 bear, and I spent a week and a half fishin up there this summer and saw 1 very small bear off the highway. Not lookin in the right places I guess. :laugh:
