THE QUESTION SHOULD BE Should Alberta extend those deer seasons that run from November 1-30 until the end of the first FULL week in December?
I couldn't fit it all in the box for some reason

heck with the amount of deer I have seen in the last few days ...they should extend into march .....
Honestly I am happy with the season now ...could it be extended?... sure ...but at what cost? give more people ..more time to go out and harvest .... brings herd numbers down ....
I guess it would take alot of research
However that being said ...at the end of the of general season IME and IMO nothings moving anyway because they are shell shocked by then and just wanna hide

Deer populations could definately stand the increase harvest associated with a one week December season.
Some of my best deer (2B&C) were harvested in Saskatchwan during this season. Both were rattled in and taken at under 20yards. Have always had great luck rattling the post rut in Sask. Wish the season was till as long for non-residents.
Wouldn't even bother me if it was a muzzleloader, crossbow, rifle or archery season. Or any combination there of.
As it is management strategies are calling for increased harvests of many game species. So why not?

Like MATHEWSarcher said, I would like to see a season first week of Dec. for Deer (white-tails and in areas that need herd reduction mule deer does) FOR "primative" weapons. I don't want to get into a debate as to how primative a muzzleloader is. That is what F&W calls the first Wainwright season "Primative weapons season" for bows and cross-bows and muzzleloaders.
Some people have been asking about additional hunting opportunity for smoke pole hunters and the main argument against is the "rifle hunters and bow hunters" do not want to "give up" a day of their seasons. So as this would be a NEW season why not make it "primative weapons" and see how it flies.
