ATTENTION ALL ALBERTANS!!
How are you feeling about the "Interim Metis Harvesting Agreement".
This far reaching and POORLY considered piece of Legislation has given almost unlimited access to our Wildlife Resources to a group of people who are now largely city dwellers and in no way qualify as subsistence hunters. These people now have the right to harvest whatever they like, whenever they like. This is a piece of legislation that will DEFINITELY have detrimental effect on the wildlife in this Province.
However, this is an "Interim" agreement, and as such we may still have a chance to reverse this "Disaster Looking for a Place to Happen".

If you are concerned about the possibilities inherent in allowing this to become permanent Legislation, please contact:
www.ProtectAlbertaWildlife.com
and take a few minutes to contact the appropriate MLA's.

The government in Alberta is in the middle of major changes, and if enough voices make themselves heard, we can change things.

We not only can, but we MUST change this if we wish to have a promising future for the Hunters of Alberta.

One of the things that really got me going was:
This last Sept.(05), I was approached by a fellow who had an "interesting" proposition.
He wanted me to shoot and dress a moose for him, while his participation would involve providing a METIS card.
In return, I would receive half a moose.
Needless to say, I declined his gracious offer.
No sooner is the IMHA passed, and the abuse begins. If these type of incidents continue unchecked, this could be the beginning of the end of sport hunting in Alberta.

I would like to hear from others who have found themselves in a similar situation since the IMHA was put in place.
