Ok here goes. I'm planning a fly in trip for moose and bear for this fall. I've got most of the bases covered. The guys I usually hunt with can't afford to do this one or are busy with work. There are two additional spots (4 in total). Cost is minimum $2000 per person. And no I'm not making money on this. If anyone is seriously interested pm me. You MUST have had remote wilderness experience, sorry I'm not baby sitting on this one. You MUST be willing to shoulder your fair share of the work. You must also be willing to pay for the charter up front, you cancel you lose your dough. If anyone is interested pm me. Some people from other countries would consider this a trip of a lifetime, I think it's gonna be great.

I guess I should also add, that you need to be an Alberta resident. A couple of points on your moose draw would also be an asset. We usaully get drawn year after year in this area as it's heavily un-subscribed so the points aren't totally necessary but it always helps.

I'm not getting much interest so I thouhgt I'd give a little more info. The place I'm going has produced the best scoring moose at one of the local northern F&G Associations for the last 6 years running. The third largest moose in Alberta came from there (our party). I'm chartering a large plane that can carry 6 hunters plus 1800 lbs of payload, I'm only willing to take 4 though to keep the numbers down. The plane costs a grand per flying hour so 4 hunters costs 250.00 per hunter to get in...pretty cheap. It costs 250.00 to fly back out...unless we get more than 2 moose. In that case we have to pay more to make another trip...we'll figure that one out before we leave. I'm thinking if we need to do another trip we all just pay the extra 500.00 each. That way everyone can get a moose. The bears are thick as fleas and many, many color phased. You can't walk anywhere without stepping on bear tracks, it's truly incredible. I was reading a hunting book where 2 pretty famous hunters were spot and stalking bears, it's exactly the same area I'm going to. I'd just go with my one buddy but it's a lot safer with more than two people, so that's why I'm looking for 2 more. The plane can carry in two canoes, I'll bring mine and a motor for it so if one of the party has another we can bring that too.

The fishing is great and the grayling are plentiful and delicious, we'll be on a lake that has lots of other fish too.

I have most of the large gear we'll need. A tent with wood stove, canoe, cooking stuff all that crap. The others need to bring personal equip, and a tent to be your "bedroom" for sleeping in-nice and private that way and it gives a good way to get some alone time. Being with otheres all the time gets a little monotonous so it's nice to have your own space.

The reason I said it would cost 2000 or more is so people wouldn't be unprepared if the expenses reached their maximum.

hope that helps

I thought I'd bring this back to the top. Surely there must be someone willing to actually go hunting in stead of sitting here and dreaming about it.

This is a hunt that an outfitter would charge 10 grand for. It's a great opportunity to get a trophy quality moose. There's the opportunity for moose, bears and wolves.

I'm trying to find a partner here on the bowzone because I want a bowhunter not rifle hunter to go...although we can plan on using guns if our bows fail us.

Last chance then I'm going somewhere else for a partner.

This is a smokin' deal guys...I'd be all over it if 1. I had the time and 2. If I had room in my freezer for 2 of them ...cuz I'm confident that I'll get the one I missed last year

There's more... I just got off the phone and the charter company charges differently now. It used to be a grand an hour for flying time. Now it's by the mile, $6.50 to be exact a hundred miles out of ft. mac is a long ways. So divided between two guys we could do the trip for about a thousand bucks each including driving to ft. mac. I'm starting to think about only 2 guys because it would be too expensive flying out everyones animals.

going, going.........................................gone !
