Hay i hear everyone hunting whitetales moose elk but does anyone hunt those little speedgoats . Is there a season on them cause there seams to be lots of them standing by the highway.

Yes there is a season for them in the southeast section of the province.. It's all on a draw system and takes around 5 years too get I have applied but havn't got a draw yet.... I can't wait they look fun... For my first crack at them I will use my Gun not my Bow....

How many tags do thay give away is there any in Sask.

One tag,and yes they're in Sask too.Every now and then they'll throw in a doe tag with a trophy tag in some zones that are undersubscibed.

I'm seriously thinking of going to Wyoming or Montana where I can buy a non res. tag over the counter.

Sask Antelope has been very limited for quite a few years now due to low populations. The draw is open to Sask residents only.

BlueNorther, I have some hunting buddies from Miami that went to Wyoming last fall and they were 3 for 3 on respectable bucks within a couple days. I may head down there to pick up one in 2005 since it will be at least 5 years before I get a tag in Alberta. They put in for a draw area but I guess you get drawn no problem the first year. It sound like a good place to go for antelope.

The link below will take you to the draw statistics for archery antelope in Alberta. Depending on the zone you choose Antelope can be drawn in as little as two years. Tag numbers increased significantly in 2003 due to excellent fawn survival in several areas of Alberta.

Applicants can actually apply for all three draws (Trophy, Archery and Non-trophy) allowing you to hunt Antelope almost every year with rifle or gun.

In 2002 I managed to harvest a nice 78" antelope with a rifle, and last year took a 71 6/8" P&Y antelope with my bow. This year I should get drawn for non-trophy antelope with the amount of priority I have in that draw.
