I went out this afternoon, walked about 3 miles through some great cover. I looked in the willows along the trails, thinking the willows might have knocked some antlers off. Walked the fence lines. No luck in either place!!!

I'm also wondering how big an area does a buck rub? The area I got my buck this fall was very well rubbed, but so were a lot of other trees up to a mile away. Would this be the same buck?

Hey Guys,

I was out at my buddies Ranch on the weekend south of Longview and we saw about 20 bucks in two days 6x6 to forkers and they were all sporting their racks still. 2 years ago at this time my buddy already picked up 4 or 5 sets. Do you think its the weather?

Chef,The bucks are dropping in my area(manitoba)I've picked up 13 so far most of them in a flax field. This mild winter seams to be good for the deer only found 1/2 dozen dead,2 where supper small yearling does. The buck you are referring to very well could rub a mile away although it more then likely is another deer .

GrandSlam was driving out to his acreage on Friday and he gave me a call that a lady driving on the same road had hit a nice 4x4 whitetail so when he got out to check if she was okay and waited with her til her husband arrived he checked to see if the antlers were lose. He told me that there still on there pretty solid.

So let me ask if you try to take off the antlers well the deer are in that time of year where there dropping them is it like a lose tooth? Or are they solid, loosen up and drop all in one day?

Was watching a buck a few years back it was missing the first 4 inches of its bottom jaw.Found the buck dead a week later it had shed one antler ,the remaining antler was on to solid to pull off by hand gave it a few hard kicks and off it came.
