Just wondering what model quad you guys like for 2004 and why. If you were buying a new one which would it be? I plan on going to the Vancouver Motorcycle show this weekend and have a look at the new models. Right now this one is at the top of my list the 2004 Suzuki Vinson 500. I like the engine size and that it comes with a dual range 5 speed gear box. Also I like that it is switchable between 2wd and 4wd. Lets hear what you think of them.

Yamaha all the way! I love my 04 Grizzly, the switchable 2 wd/4 wd/ front diff lock in/out is great. You're set for whatever conditions you are going to encounter. As far as needing the manual shift for steep terrain, I think the Griz does great with the engine brake. If you don't want anything as big as the Griz, the Kodiak is a great bike as well, I got that one for my wife. The only problem with the Kodiak is that it doesn't have the independent suspension that the Griz has, it still rides pretty good, though. I've had Yamaha quads for years, never any major problems except for brake pads on my old '87 Moto-4. That machine still runs like a top though it's real rough riding compared to the new ones. I use my quads year round, my Griz performs great all winter pushing snow to clear the yard and road into my acreage. I had to start it and push the driveway in minus 40 weather and there was no problem, and it just sits in the old barn with no heat.
I hope you find what you're looking for in whatever make and model you buy. Best of Luck!
