Hey all you trad guys. I want to build a selfbow. Where do I start? What do I need? I just have a real urge to hunt with a bow that has my blood, sweat, and tears invested in it.

Ive made a few bows yew osage orange or maple is what i used maple being the poorest . You have to decide the stile english long bow or the short bow. The hardest part is the back as you have to follow the grain no matter ware it goes you need one continuese grain from one end to the other.the front you can do pretty mutch any thing you want. My son use to work at sobeys warehouse in calgary i sent a few yew bow staves out there never heard if any bowes got made or not.
