Well my hunting season started May 1st with the opening of spring bear. I got a nice brown phase bear on May 3rd and tried to find the blonde bear up until june 15th, no luck. Season stops for 6 week layover until it starts up again Aug 1st. :D Late Aug, forest closed due to fires in area, so I will miss the 10 day archery season in my area, That's all right, I have a trip to go on Sept 18th. Moose, Elk, Caribou, Stone Sheep. All in northern BC. Counting the days :D . I'll fill y'all in then. Two trips planned for Muleys over in the Caribou region of BC in Oct and Nov.... More info later...

I have heard that it is okay to hunt on private land so if know somebody it should be okay. Double check before you go to be some.

Well I'm back from my trip up north. After about a 14 hour drive and an alternator later we made it to the Redfern trail. My main hunting partner got lucky on this trip, He harvested a nice 5x7 Caribou and a immature moose. There were no animals to be found anywhere on the valley bottom. Well there wasn't a mountain around that we didn't hike up and down. Saw lots of Caribou and Banana head Stone sheep, a couple dozen Elk, only one 5x5 bull. Fun was had by all. On a serious note though, the camp that was below us had one of there guy's get mauled by a grizzly. He had a few punctures in his right arm, The bear was less then 10 yards when he realized it was a Grizz and his arm was what save his hide. He came across the bear either feeding on a moose or covering it up. Regardless he was one lucky man. Maybe thats why there was no game in the valley, grizz sign was every where. I myself would like the season on them opened up again and not just limited entry.
The next trip is in Oct to the Fraser river for mule deer, region 5 in BC.

Well I tagged out on bear in early Oct. I nice 6 " blackie, I have him in a shop to be put into a rug. My trip to region 5 was all good, first morning of the any buck season my partner shot a 150 class 4 pointer and another day later one of the guyz in our group got a 2 pointer and on the last afternoon I shot a 2 pointer(all muleys). Of course this is all with rifles. They have a archey season there from Dec 1-10. I will be going back there on Nov 12 for thr four point season. The snow was just starting to blow in when we were leaving, so with any luck the colded temps should get those big high mountain muley coming down. Dave
