Mikey and I went out on Saturday to see if we could find a bull moose to fill my tag. Well, we didn't even find an fresh sign, so we decided to go to one of my Whitetail honey holes to see if we could fill a tag or two. I thought I had the animals patterned pretty well. They came out where they were supposed to, but proceeded to feed to the west and not south towards the rock pile we were huddled on. So a quick decision was made to stalk/run across the field to get a shot. I lowered the boom on a big WT doe (like Mikey says, "You dropped her like a two bit whore!"...lol) and two other does ran straight towards us and stood there at about 70 yards watching these two fat hunters laying in the middle of the hay field. The small ( and I mean small) buck wandered around the downed doe at about 40 yards for about five minutes as if to say, "Come on, get up, there is crazy people in the field." Anyways, it was a good finish to the day. Saw some nice land, spent the day with a good friend, and put some meat in the freezer too!
