Can anyone give some info/experience on Kawasaki??.. I have a 2005 650 brute force 4x4 model lined up for a good price and before I go for it I was checking to see if anyone might have any suggestions. Anything would help.
Thanks

Hey there,
I own a KVF 650 bought it in 2001 and is the same as what your interested in and yes it is a great bike I've logged on over 5000kms. and no troubles and I mean hard kms not on dirt roads I mean bad stuff and it just keeps going. Lots of power, good gas mileage, easy steering goes where lots of others can't it's been winning every mud bog competetion since it's arrival , comfortable ride with great ground clearance I know independent is in style but put a trailer on and load the rack and they got less ground clearance than a lawnmower. All you need is decent tires and a good skid plate and you won't regret your purchase.

Hey bud! I had a Kawi too, just not that big... I absolutely loved it and there wasn't anything it wasn't able to overcome - I would definitely recommend their quads.

I know alot of people with Prarie 650s ..... Rear swing arm is their only complaint ....most (not all)would buy something with an independant rear if they were to do it again .... Softer ride (easier on the body over long days) and better ground clearance

Thank you all.. looks like their is some good feed back on Kawasaki. I have read up on both Kawasaki and Honda, I do like both, and they both seem to hold their value, but today I went down and made the purchase on the Kawasaki. Took a spin in the back alley with a guys Kawi 650 "don't tell him" and holy $%^& was I impressed, that thing almost took me for a ride. Again thank you all and happy Quading.

I see your point but load your independent and you have less ground clearance then a straight axle. Nice ride on trails, all my buddies have independent suspensions and they all stand up when the going gets tough they all bought cv joints and axle boots for the rear because of the abuse straight axles are bullet proof even my brakes are inside the housing so the water and mud does not affect their performance. I not saying independent are no good I'm just saying that a 650 KAWA is a great bike for hunting more then just a pleasure rider they are proven more stable, more reliable, stronger pullers, less expensive to maintain then an independent bike. It's a bike that makes it's own trails!

Great stuff!, I do have the straight axle, it is great that the brakes are inside the housing that is one feature that I really liked, which is a awesome idea, no mud and dirt. Man I tell you the break in period is painfull, not supposed to take that thing past half throttle for the first 100/kms as per the owner manual, and it just wants to go! go! go!. Again thanks for you knowledge on the Quad, can't wait to pull out some game with that bad boy.
