Neat! I like the night shot more - looks ominous

The night shots are better, but I just wanted to show that the daytime pics are not in brillant color after the camera is modified to see infra red. But that a slave flash sure works well with infra red for night shots.

TBark,
Your right in your comment. The IR pics for sure do not have the color as an unmodified camera. But I beleive, just like you, I had to try to build one.
Folks have to be carefull what they want a trail camera for, and what they want to do with the pics. ie. blow-up a nice color pic compared to a IR pic. :hump:

Actually there is the technology out there for perfect shots using IR and Color ..... I make use of it everyday at work ... I am actually in the middle of designing a good game Camera using those same cameras ...
the picture in the first post you can see the flash go off with the brite spot right in front of that buck(by the way ....not a true IR technology camera) and the deer looks like he heard the cam or sumthing ....he is alerted to the camera .... I want to get rid of that ...... Unfourtunatly at night the Pics and vids will be in B&W but daylight it will be Vivid color

Mikey,
Most of the time I convert the night pics to black and white, they do look better. One way to keep the camera quite is to disconnect the shutter motor in the open position, this way there would be no sound at all during the picture taking. I would be interested in seeing your daytime pics with the camera your planning to build. I removed the IR filter in my camera so it can see IR. Using the camera outside of the trail camera case gives me color night pictures without the pink background. Thats when I use the white flash from the camera only.
Good luck with your camera,
Sledder
