Just like every year I always head out with my best friend "hunting partner" RUBBERDUCK! and again like most years we try to harvest our Elk with the Bow. We had been watching this Bull on some private land and on a couple occasions almost came close enough for a Bow kill. To say the least, we headed out on opening day with the Rifle and I was able to connect on this 5x5 Bull at 256 Yards "MY FIRST BULL". I would like to thank RUBBERDUCK for all the hard work that he put's in each and every year and like most years it ends up in success.
Thanks again Bud.

Hell of a day on October 25th. I made my way into the same exact spot that I had been sitting in during Bow season. Morning sunrise made it's way but no sign of the Elk that I had been sweating to get close to with the bow all freak'n month. My partner and I decide to head back to the truck around 11:30 to eat lunch and relax for the night hunt. When we finish up lunch and I wake up from a 2 hour sleep my partner suggests that I sit uptop the ridge straight accross from where I had been in the morning as he had spotted this Bull up their before while he was Bow huting. A hour and a 1/2 roll by and I'm looking uptop on a nice clearing that is to the left of me.. not seeing anything, so I set my bino's down and looks straight ahead of me,and don't ask me where the hell he came from but he was in the middle of the clearing looking straight up at me! I think my heart almost fell out of my chest. I waited still.. thinking he was going to take off, what does he do?? he turns broadside and starts to chomp on some grass. Here we go! I grab my rifle, I got a tree trunk beside me, so I range this guy at "256" yards, circle one arm around the tree trunk so I can steady my rifle, take aim and send him 180 Grain "GRANDSLAM" through the Lungs.. he runs approx 60 yards and he is stone dead. I didn't stop jumping and laughing as I was the happiest guy ever.. and it is my first Elk. I will try to get the PICS posted ASAP, I need to get the USB connected up to get them uploaded.
I hope you all have a successfull hunting season, and thanks again.
