Looking for a hunting partner for bruins

I would love to go out west but for an elk hunt I don't have enough vacation time right now and I wouldn't be able to convince my girlfriend to let me go that far away for bear hunting when I can hunt them 5 minutes in front of my house. Sorry! :smile:

The bears I hunted in August were night bears if you have the same setup as I do you can turn them into day bears but not completely tell me more about your setup and I'll almost guarantee you 1 bear by the end of the month maybe even in one week. Is you spot in thick cover because it should be bears are shy. Try the buddy method bears usually get accustomed to the bait being filled by someone and they always wait till they are gone an hour goes by and then they show up, get in your stand have your buddy fill the bait and leave you behind stay very quiet if that doesn't work I'll tell you a surefire way to turn your bear to a day bear get an 18'' by 18'' steel box with a hinged cover drill a hole in the side 5/16'' will do, weld a piece of chain to the cover on the same side as your hole so the links reach past at least 5 links install a bolt 5/16'' in the hole now you can control how much the bear can open your box so keep it tight during the night but not completely closed just so he can have a taste and see that there is more in the box. After a couple of days of this start opening the box in the morning he will then have no choice but show up during the day but problably just before dark I say between 5:00p.m and 7:00p.m before you leave always tighten up your box. when you go back open it up again.
