Howdy gang,

I was at my bow club the other night and seems my string gave up the ghost. it stretched real bad, I figure one more draw and I'll be smakin my self in the face. Anyways, it is a Champion bow brand new thisa hunting season and the string is frayed and stretching likeI said so I am goingto get another one. I saw in another post someone mentioned a "pro string". are ther any opinions out there. My old browning bow had a string on there for two years while I had it and who knows how long before and I am sure I shot 25,000 arrows out of it and it is still good now. I don't expect to get that many shots on a string but at least a year. I am not going to bother with champion giving me another string as I see for the extra 20 bucks I may as well get a good one.

So any feed back would be great. I also am going to the tru-peep as was mentioned in the previous post as I have one of them rubber banded things on there now, and I have to replace that about three times a year as it is now.

I also have an quick tune rest on there now, the grizzly I think. I am considering one of thoise bisquit whisker types.............anyone?.....anyone?

Thanks Eh!
Tim

A custom string is a great investment. I am using Winner's Choice, but have not been happy with the wait time for my cables. I am not sure who is at fault with that though. I ordered the string and cables together and the string came in, but no cables :x . Here are some websites for custom strings
www.prostring.com
www.wolfdenbowstrings.com
www.bowmancustomstrings.com
www.winnerschoicestrings.com

As for the whisker bisciut, I have never used one but for a hunting rest you don't have to worry about you arrow falling off. Have a look at the GKF TKO rest they are a fall-away rest. These are not very expensive and quality is among the best on the market.

Dnegard is a member here on bowzone as well as a ProString rep. You can contact him via e-mail at negard@telus.net . His name is Doug and he can help ya out with the new string.

CdnArcher uses Wolfden Bow Strings and he's been really happy with them......There are quite a few good strings out there.

Tim,
I sent you an email and a PM about ProStrings. I have been testing them ever since Shel started his company. I feel they are one of The best string products on the market.
My original string has been on my One cam bow for well over 9 months. It has had in excess of 10,000 arrows shot from it and you still can not see any wear or serving seperations!

Living up inthe far northwest corner of Alberta having a bowstring stretch on you or become frayed could be disasterous. For there are no archery shops close by, so I carry a extra bowstring with me and string wax.
I fiqure the extra cost for the spare string is well worth the cause. I don't need to be looking at a big old moose and wishing that the string will last a couple of more shots.
Most cables are setup with two string connectors so that the string can be replaced and then the old string removed, I believe. I know that is the way my old Eagle bow is setup.
Save the day and the backpack out and carry a extra string

You need a press to change Strings on your bow. There is an emergency way to do it but that is all it is.
