Hey all!
I been reading the 2005 regs and was wondering if anyone had a link to some extended regulations regarding game birds and waterfowl. I am looking specifically for anything that would outline what is and isn't allowed for hunting methods. Can you shoot em on the ground or do they have to be in flight? Can they be hunted with a bow?
The game bird regs in the 2005 book are a tad sparse and don't exactly seem to outline this in a manner that I am seeing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Figured I'd check here before I play telephone tag with SRD.
thanks!

Yes you can shoot them on the ground, and yes you can hunt them with bows. There's no law that says a bird has to be in flight to shoot it.Some regard this as unethical, (ground sloosing) but that's only their opinion.

Who would find hunting birds with a bow while on the ground unethical? that's just stupid...

Thanks for the replies.
I was talkin with someone about that and when I mentioned I wouldn't mind going after some geese I got this wicked nasty tongue lashing. May as well have had my face slapped for as shocked as I was.
Thought I'd check with those more in the know :)

Migritory birds fall under the Federal Migritory Bird Laws and I do believe it state that the birds must be in flight to shoot them. I know it is this way in Ontario when hunting ducks and geese. Upland game birds can be shot any where on the ground, in flight or in trees. I would contact a Conservation officer to find out exactly what the current laws are for your Wildlife Management Unit if you still have any questions.

Migratory birds do not have to be in flight to shoot them, however you cannot take them with a firearm using a single projectile.

Blue is 100% right. You can shoot em flyin, sittin in a field, floatin in the water, or any other position.
I've bowhunted geese and ITS A BLAST. We hunt just inside the city limits of Calgary and have an awesome time every time we do it.
Drop me an email if you wanna go out and give it a try sometime.
