Thanks sniper. It is nice to find a Canuck site. There is much more we can relate to here than on some of the US sites. Looking fwd to sharin' chit chat and info here.

Pretty quiet in here for a ladies site LOL  Ladies, please share some of your hunt stories or successes with me. I am fairly new here and it is often difficult to find other women that are even interested in hunting let a lone actually hunt. I have only hunted for 8 years but have crammed a ton of hunting into it. I have been fortunate to hunt in BC, Sask., NWT, Alberta, Michigan and TX and have had a ton of great experiences - oh, and a horrible experience with an Alberta outfit. I hunt both archery and gun. So far this year I have a big, very old black bear taken with my .308 and I will be headed out in an hour or so to kick off the '05 archery season for blacktail and/or bear right here in our area.

Cheers! Tanya

I really like your site for women. It is great to see so many lady hunters. I am just new to bowzone and I came across this thread. I was raised a city girl in Vancouver, moved to Alberta 12 years ago and thats when I got into hunting. I love it. My boyfriend got me into bow hunting 3 years ago and what a rush! To have the animals come in so close and to be able to call them in yourself is great. It is great to get your animal but even if I don't but they came in to call I am just as happy. Have a great Thanksgiving!

Couldn't agree more Tanya, the Canuk content is great and I can relate to it so much more. I also think ladies in the bow hunting world "rock". My daughter is excited as she is going to start this year. My Ex doesn't think it's a good idea but Dad is grinning ear to ear! Now we can spend the summer here and up north, Ontario, getting her ready by doing some stump shooting etc. May the wind always be in your face!
talk to you all soon.

Bear; What is the minimum hunting age in Ontario? Here in B.C. it is 10. My husband I and teach CORE ( Hunter Safety ) and just last weekend certified 3 youngsters and a woman, with one more to write the test yet.

My daughter is 16 but I believe she could have been hunting when she was 14. I didn't want to rush her and wanted her to more or less approach me with the idea. We went to the sportsmen show in Toronto this year and after that she said she wanted to hunt so I didn't waiste any time getting on that one lol. Ten years old would be great, getting them started early I think is a good idea. We have been out stump shooting and shed hunting for several years so this is some what of a natural progression. I'm looking very forward to it!.

You definitely did the right thing there Bear, if it's her decision she'll be more open to learning and the fun that goes with it. Enjoy your time together!

I'm hoping to get my first black bear with my bow in the next few weeks (I have harvested bears before with my rifle). I am anticipating fall when I have a date with a moose that I hunted last year. I will also be hunting whitetail and mulies with my bow. Good luck to you all!

And good luck to you lady, I think that rocks!!! I've always said if I ever hook up with someone again they will have to share my hobbies and you've re kindled a little hope here. All the best of luck to you on all your hunts. I have a ten point I've been watching and a bear up north as well so I can relate.
good hunting

Whitetails, this week and onward. Moose draw in November, cow elk draw in Dec. And a black bear if the right one stumbles out in front of me along the way ! Hoping by the time my elk draw rolls aroung i am comfident enough with my new mathews Passion to use that, Until then though it will be rifle. Can't wait to get started, have had my cams up for months, and chompin at the bit !

How is everyone's hunting going so far? Tagged a good Muley on the 20th of September. (Check out team 33 in the hunting contest) That'll be my Muley I shot before it headed up towards my husband. He saw it the night before, but didn't get a chance to shoot em.
Now the wait for the elk to start talkin, been rather slow for that and late. Haven't seen any whitetail around or bear for that matter!
Good luck to you all.
Happy hunting.
