What does everyone shoot for their trad setups?
I have a Rodney Wright "Firehawk" long bow 55@28", and a SMB recurve from Francois Merlin in Switzerland, 60@28.I shoot woodies and weighted carbons on both of them.

Know Rodney since few years,LIve 15 miles from my place.Nice set up in the wood.
If you like dogs , in the house there is 2 huges rotwellers and a labrador.
How does his bow perform.I would like to buy one from him.
I shoot a 1964 Browning Nomad Stalker recurve set-up 60# 52" and draw lenght 30".

small world.say hi to him for me.
The bow is superb.Light very smooth, no stacking, no vibration/hand shock. and good speed.Very acurate and consistant.I did a review on it this year, the review is on my home page in the gear reviews, traditional section.
His workmanship is also flawless.

Hi Gang , Since i live 30kms from Abbotsford BC where Chek- Mate bows are made. I shoot a Take-Down Hunter 11 recurve. I also shoot a longbow made by Fredrick
I enjoy shooting them both and have taken game with them.
The Chek-Mate has a Cocabola riser and has two seys of limbs , bacote and yew. The fredrick has a bacote riser with limbs of a bamboo core , paduk accent strip and english yew wood veneers.

OK folks here it is , 65# Bears Paw custom longbow by Neil Jacobson , 70# Martin ML10 longbow , 60# Martin Lynx Recurve , 45# Martin Dreamcatcher recurve , 45# Browning Wasp Recurve . I shoot woods and the arrowdynamics traditional carbon shafts . I tip most of my shafts with the wensel woodsman or the snuffer broadheads . I try to my total weights around 650 grains for the heavy bows and 500 for the lighter bows .
i am shootign a 56 inch recurve the browning wasp 47#@28" and my longbow is a dan quillan design that i got to finish which was a 68" longbow withwalnut and hickory backing. it is 45#@28". both are excellent bows to shoot and dan makes a great little bow for hunting

am a new member here and a traditional shooter..
I have 2 long bows and one recurve which was my first purchase.
the recurve is a howet hunter 60#@28 but have a 26 in draw
the first long bow I bought was a fox 65#@28
the last one I bought and just love to shoot is an Algoma Boss bow custom built 52#@26 inches it has a shedua riser it has 4 pieces of the most fantastic yew with only one tiny pin knot ,a core of maple and a wafer of carbon ..
this bow is fast and I mean fast. absolutly no hand shock..
these bows are made in Prince George BC by an man who is a absolute crafstman.. I have shot many bows trying other peoples just to try and these are the greatest.
I shoot woods mostly but have a doz aluminums for it.
this is a good sit what I have seen of it.. keep up the good work

Like Greybark, being a BC guy I shoot Chek-Mates as well. My "go to" bow is a 60" version of the firebird and my lb is one of the older style straighter limbed variety. My 'curve is about 55# @ my 30" draw and the lb is about 60#.
The curve is bubinga & curly maple with (I think) yew limbs, and the lb is black walnut and birds eye maple.
