I've found the best thing you can do is stay warm so you can stay still. Get yourself a good set of polypropelene long underwear and a pair of boots that are rated as low as you can find.
I've recently started to use chemical hand warmers and I love them! They're odour free and you can get them 2 for $1 at Wal-Mart. I opened one yesterday at 6:30a.m. and it was still warm after lunch. It needs to be in a confined space like your pocket or a hand muff or else it won't last nearly as long. This allows you to wear just a light pair of gloves so you can still shoot without much trouble.
After chasing does for the last month the bucks will be looking for groceries and will be resting. Do some low impact scouting to see where they're travelling (which is quite easy if there's snow on the ground) between bedding and feeding areas. If it's really cold you might want to sleep in and hunt between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. since they'll bed down when it's brutally cold. There's also not much point in sitting in a tree if you can't be still.
Good luck!
