We've spent the better part of the long weekend working on the community end of BowZone.ca here. We've added a-lot of new features and also opened up the Media Galleries to you all!

So, we'll start there....Photo and Movie Gallerys.

Here's how they work.

As a regular registered member you get 10 megs of media space in the gallery. In order for you to activate your gallery, all you have to do is when you click the upload link, Choose "Personal Member's Albums". Upload your images to that Category and you'll notice that you now have your own media gallery.
As a "Supporting Member" you get 20 megs of space in the Media Gallery.
As an "Elite Supporting Member" you get 50 megs of storage space in the Media Gallery.
You can post pictures in all of the Categories in the media gallery. If your permissions do not allow you to post in a particular category, you won't see it as one of your options in the "Upload" area.
Your images may not show up immediately as we have turned on the "Moderate" option in the Media Gallery. There are a number of folks on here that have access to approve your images...please be patient as it won't take long!

WHAT HAPPENED TO OUR OLD IMAGES?

We still have them and will be porting over them all to your gallery once you have it set up. If you don't set it up by following the instructions in #1 above, we won't be able to move them.

Now that I have set up my personal gallery, why didn't all the images make it over?

Your images went over the 20 meg limit.....We will provide you the images that didn't make it over at your request. Use this form (http://forum.bowzone.ca/sendmessage.php) to contact us about it.

There's more info to come......so in the meantime....enjoy....If you have any questions, please post in this topic!

I'm having difficulties uploading photos... the connection keeps timing out on me after I click submit. Happened the other night too.

Try an upload 5 at a time and see what happens. I will adjust the limit to 5 to make sure that it doesn't time out.

Coincidence! 5 pics is exactly what I was trying to load at once... I figured that we could use up as many of the available slots as possible. I'll try again.

I think I've realized the problem... Four of the files are just a shade over 2.00MB but interestingly enought it's showing on the utilization bar that they're in storage... just not posted yet by the approving authority!

Okay - so I'm the newbie with the photo gallery... I just found the other pics in the taxidermy section, my brain has already shut down for the stampede!

I know....I approved them.....

Here's a question for you all. I have moderation turned on to avoid having any nasty pics show up in the media gallery. This happened with the old one and I don't want to tarnish the new one.

What do you all think we should do? Open it up as a free for all or keep moderation on and wait a little bit to get the pics made live?

Let's hear it.

I'm all for the moderation, I think that it's the only way to ensure appropriate material is being posted.

Yep, they need to be moderated. Once the member uploads the photos, they can PM Bowzone or I asking for them to be moderated.
