Young Hunters!

It's so important to for parents to teach their children our ways. Hunting and Fishing in the younger generation is falling by the wayside and I, for one, don't want to see that happen.

They are the future of our sports...be it archery, hunting, fishing or anything in the out of doors!

My son has been hunting with me since he was 4 (hasn't been around for a harvest yet but he does his job very well.....takes his binos and watches for deer).

He is also a very good archer for his age.... How many other parents on here are taking the time to teach their kids?

My wife and I have been teaching our kids about archery and the fundamentals of Hunting. They usually come with us when we go rifle hunting, and soon they will be able to join us on our bow hunts - but they make too much noise right now.

Here some pics of my daughters shooting archery. They are 4 and 6 years old, and they love archery and hunting.

I forgot to mention that your little guy is cute, it is nice to that you are teaching him good form, and proper hunting morals. Archery and hunting are excellent family activities. Our girls have been going with us since they were in a high chair, and they both have seen a couple of harvests.

I think its great that you are teaching kids about hunting and fishing. I have a 2yr old daughter and 4 yr old son that I've been teaching archery to as well. Sorry no pics.They both love trying to hit the red flag on the back stop and get so excited when they do. My son every time he sees some geese he asks me if we can take one home for supper but I have to remind him that there is a season for them. :teehee: I also belong to a game and fish club and we have set up a youth mentorship progran for the kids (ages 5 to 18 yrs old). Right now we are trying to get some youth archery equipment (bows arrows etc.) so that we can loan them out like a libary does with books to our youth members so they can try and pratice archery and enjoy the sport as we do. We hope this archery program will be a success. The youth program that we have in place now is very successful. To see a smile on a childs face when he/she shoots thier first bulleye is priceless. :smile:

My daughter who is now 6 has been there for 1 deer kill ( she's not very interested in hunting) gut has been shooting a recurve since she was around 3 1/2. My Son on the other hand ( he's 5) has been in on 3 deer, 2 moose and 2 bears. He's also been shooting since he could walk and absolutely lives for hunting and the shooting sports!! HMMM I wonder where he gets that from?? :)

Ya im a kid my moms ladyarcher and my parents have been taking me hunting since i has around 5 months i has always stayin in the camp or the truck but they strated taking me to the stands and stuff when i was 3. I started shooting a bow when i was 6 got so good when i was 9 i got sponserd by badendock archery, and when i was 11 i shot a deer now im 13 and im goin for a bear so ya i gess the involve me.

im a 16 year on kid and ow it all to my dad for taking me hunting, even though i couldnt sit still for more then a second.

hey everybody my name is Danielle I'm 13 FEMALE. I've been going hunting for years with my dad and just last 2009 season I took down my first 2 by 3 white tail deer with a bow. I look forward to next season greatly! :D -Dani
