I carry a towrope so to pull the suzuki's & polaris's back to camp.

Seriously, not many tools, my daypack with survival kit, including maps, compass & GPS and water & a bit of food in case I get sidetracked.

I carry a towrope so the folks with the suzuki's & polaris's don't have to tarnish theirs by hooking up to a honda when they're towing me back to camp.

I fixed your post russ....In the quote above is what I think you meant to say :haha: :haha:

I'm not quite as bad as Scott, but I carry a whack of stuff. One thing that we've used LOTS this year has been the tarp I carry under the seat. We have been getting so much rain this year that we've been tying it up for a little relief from the weather when we stop for coffee and lunch. I also carry a snatch block (don't even go there you guys :teehee: ) to double up the pulling power for when I'm pulling Cats out of the swamp.

uhh Scott, I don't need all those tools when I go quading. In fact I don't even need a good pair of boots! No wonder all you Polaris guys need such big engines, you have to carry everything and a bike lift to have half a chance to get home :D

I'm with you Bowzo'ne - I like to make sure that I've got what I need for any situation, although I've never had to carry tie rods, etc. - two of my hunting budddies are both real big on stowing that kind of stuff so I never need to worry about it!

when I go Quading we go in groups ...because its stupid to go alone

we bring:

Food ......drinks
Tire repair stuff
first aid stuff
a couple of lighters / testors model glue (awesome fire starter on rainy days)
Tug Straps
Ratchet straps ....to re-seat a blown tire bead
compressor
saw
Tool kit thats capible of changing tires ... getting at belts, chains, u-joints etc....
flares and bangers
navigation equip, map and GPS

a whack of others ..
The group I normally go with we pretty much all run the same make of units ... Polaris' so we all know how to fix each others machines if need be .... there are a couple of Hot Rod units (Honda 400 EX and Yami 660 Raptor) that come with us ..... they both get bent at us cause we have no idea how to fix them .....
if we forgot something ...theres enough of us to run back to camp to collect or tow the broken machine to camp.

also each one of us has some sort of first aid exp ..... anything from basic on up the scale ... I refuse to venture in the woods with someone who has no clue what to do if I get hurt and cant comunicate... thats my *** on the line

A tire plug kit and electric pump came in handy for us once...my friend put a hole in his sidewall on the front tire and it took 3 plugs to fill it. A chainsaw, fishing rod and lures and lots of beef jerky !:beer_chee

Actually, I was being serious. I learned from way back to carry a 3 pack of unlubricated condoms in any emergency kit I put together. First, they're sterile. They're waterproof. They're elastic to a degree. We sat and had a competition to see just how many uses we could find for a condom out in the bush , and it was staggering just how useful they are. Everything from a tourniquet to repairing a leaky car hose, to carrying fresh water.
