Hey everyone! Great news! We are implementing part 1 of 5 of the BowZone.ca upgrade.
The forums will be the first part of the upgrade. Tomorrow sometime, these old forums will go down in order for us to get the most current snapshot of the data base and we will have to import everything.
You will find a few things that you'll have to do with the new forums...
1. Your passwords will not make it over to the new forum software. When you go to log in for the first time and enter in your username and password, it will tell you your password is incorrect. Do not try and enter it again. Instead there's a link there that says "Forgot Password?". Click that link and you will be emailed a new password. Once you get that email, you can log in with the password that was emailed to you and change your password in the "Control Panel". The link is in the top left corner of the screen under the BowZone Logo.
2. The Gallery.....this is going to be a monster undertaking....All of your pictures will be ported over to the new system, but it's going to take some time. There are over 6000 pictures the current photo galleries in BowZone.ca. The new gallery will enable you to upload pictures to your own gallery and if you don't currently have a Photo Gallery on BowZone.ca, all you have to do is start uploading to your gallery.....It's all automatic! No more messin' around waiting for the admins to set them up for you.....You can do it all on your own.
3. Posts: All the posts and information will be moved over....no worries..
4. Log-In: You only have to log into the forum area now...not into the main part of the site. The cookie log in problems have been solved and there'll be no more logging in 2 -3 times per session and trying to post.
5. The new forum URL will be http://forum.bowzone.ca .
6. Avitars and signatures: You may have to put your avitars back in. Some have made it over in the initial testing phase but some didn't. You'll see right away in your User Control Panel if yours didn't make it over.
7. I'll be throwing up an announcement on the home page of BowZone once these forums have come down..
Keep on using these ones until ya can't anymore and once they come down....see ya on the new ones!!
Oh, and the new forums will be on our new servers as well!!
