Yesterday I was at the bow shop picking up some new bradheads and got talking to the owner about bows. I recently bought a Champion Storm of him and he was showing me the new lineup. Aguy had to have a new Matthews SQ2. The owner tried to talk him into a Champion Hurricane but the guy wouldn't hear of it. The day came to pick up the new Matthews and the owner of the shop was setting up a Hurricane for a guy. Both bows were set up exactly the same and the Matthews owner was sure that it would beat the Hurricane. Both bows are 31" ATA.

Speed of the Matthews 218fps
Speed of the Hurricane 245fps

Both bows shot the same arrow. The Matthews owner was quite upset over the fact that he just spent $800 for it when he could have spent $500 for a quicker bow.

In my opinion, don't always go with the NAME BRAND. Shoot a bunch of bows. This guy had the chance to shoot the Hurricane before he put down the deposit, but didn't want to.

C'est la vie. I love my Champion and I am supporting a Canadian company. I shot different brands and didn't settle on the cheapest bow. I'm sure that there will be some rebuttal to this claim, but I'm just going with what I was told. I'm pretty sure that the dealer would rather make the money off of a Matthews than a Champion.

Shanman,I have a Pro-sport Rampage with overdraw and with IBOspeed of 315fps.Pro-Sport and Champion are the same company.I shot many brand in my 42 years as abowhunter and I have to admit that I love the accuracy and speed of that bow.Shoot what you like and have fun.

I like Champion bows but it seems like the dealer doesn't know how to tune the SQ2.or he compared them with diferent draw lengths.
