Well I'm just jazzed this morning as we found out the results for the provincial JOP indoor shoot (18M FITA) held regionally across British Columbia last week-end. 13 of the 18 kids our club entered medaled and more exciting for me personally was my son who just turned 5 in Feb placed first in his age group (under 9) by category, and 2nd over all provincially for his category all together!! he shot 200, and 206 for a Canadian 300 round. I just about sh*t a brick when i found out he had won!!!
Hey Warden you need any 5 year old staff shooters for team bowzone!! :P

Chris

PS Trev, I pretty much have decided that this deserves a new bow so let me know if your still interested in his Tom thumb and we can maybe work out a deal. How old is the kid you were looking at it for?

Hey Willy,

You should be proud! Only 5 and beating 9 year olds? 8)

I assume you're shooting 10 yards? Or are you out to 20?

My 7 year old has a hard time hitting an 18 inch square block at 5 yards. I think his winter coat is causing the biggest problem so, I'n not correcting him so much right now.

Way to go to your son!

Taxman... he shoots the full 18M, his category shoots a 60 cm target face, but with the 2 scores from the week-end he will now be moved up to the regulation 40cm face! He's more pumped about that than he is about winning. He's been working hard to get to where he can shoot the regulation adult target just like Dad!! Course he shoots it a whole lot better than i do....or at least he will soon!

Man!

That is truly amazing!

Way to go to your son. I'm a rookie bowman here and shot a 216 at 20 yards yesterday! I know how difficult this can be. This is after shooting a 275 at 10 yards!

Hey thanks for all the kind words guys, I think i get way more excited with his succesess than i do for any of my own!!

Scott, he is currently shooting a Stacey Archery Tom Thumb, but were gonna put him into a new bow right away. I'm pretty sure we've settled on the Bowtech Rascal after i saw the birth certifiacate on one that said 165fps on 19" and 21#'s  We need to jump up his speed a bit for outdoor FITA because he will have to shoot 35M (40yds) and its a total PITA if the arrows don't stick in the target butts for scoring. He got to shoot the 40cm target for the first time at JOP Saturday.....had a total meltdown in the last end but still managed a 161, I actually think this target will really help his shooting by forcing him to focus more.
