K guys, Dillershortbow was kind enough to bring me a split yew log to the Mother of All Shoots. It has been drying for about a year, so shortly I am going to attempt to make a longbow. Any tips and tricks and hints that you all can pass along my way would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Trevor

It is a long slow process. Each limb has to be the same thickness. From whitling sanding and heating everything must be the same, My friend does just that. Takes him about a year to do one bow right!!!!Hopoe you are not in a hurry. Get out the calipers and micrometers

I just picked up a couple of unfinished longbows that I will have to work on to get the draw weight lowered.

Hey, T-Man, we are both in Airdrie. I would love to get together with you and see these bows you picked up. I think I am going to try a board bow before I start hacking on the yew.

A good source of infermation is the primative archer magizine. I think the most important thing is fallow the grain even if its crocked .A good draw knife and spokeshave is what you need .
