How many here have bowhunted for sheep? I was wondering if we could get a discussion going here to give us sheep newbies some pointers. I'm quite experienced in back packing and was wondering if I could get far enough back in say 2 days of heavy hiking to have good opportunities. So I guess we're talking um.... maybe 10-15 miles back or is that not far enough back to avoid the horse hunters and others. Also I've never had sheep meat and was wondering how good it is, and do people really pack out all the meat or just the prime cuts, I hate to waste meat. If a sheep weighs 250 lbs live then I would assume 50 lbs or a little more of meat thats a lot to pack out, and what would the head and cape weigh? Would anyone be interested in pointing out some decent areas? I'm not asking for a honey hole here just a general idea. Finally when summer hits would anyone like to go for a nice hike to do some scouting?

thanks to all who share their info
