Why Canadians don't stick together and keep the site active.?Why do we have to go to American sites to have action?
Please explain ,just in case I would understand.
You are the first one to ask for a site . Where are you? What are your reasons.Help me please!

Hang in there Crank.
I visited bowzone.ca a couple of months ago and registered. I didn't notice until yesterday, the forum, and traditional to top it off. If you build it they will come.
I think it will filter to the Cdn dudes and everyone will get here like I have. I know nothing about web pages, so I don't know what would make it more noticeable.
I just know that I was looking for a Canadian site for a while before I found this one.
There is a link on Stickbow.com to the Bowsite.com/Ontario and other regions in Canada which is for all bowhunters. I'm going to drop a few notes there about this site.
Cheers

Hi
I don't think they allow the post, identifying Bowzone.ca, so I guess we have to go about it more descretely. Also I found the forum, not very noticeable when I went to the home page. Maybe it was just me. Don't know what could be done about it. Did you try to post links with the suppliers? Just suggestions. As I said. I really don't know how to do it myself.
Barry.

Perhaps we can get Scott shooting a stick! Then we will get the page made more noticable. If you don't know that there is a trad section here it is hard to be active.A lot of guys drop by and take it that the Bowzone is all about wheels and gadgets, so they hit the back button.Perhaps a Sub Domain would work??Whats your thoughts Scott??

Hmm, I tell you what you guys....What do you think of this?
I can develop a trad spin off of this site......maybe called trad.bowzone.ca and I will hand pick 2 or 3 trad guys...(pete? taur?) to admin that side.....
Then you can do what ya want and put up trad articles, reviews on trad equipment and everything else traditional. You guys can make the content what ever you want and it will hook into the forums in a trad section.
We're putting together a new site as we speak that will look like the http://survey.bowzone.ca site. We will put a splash page up on the front (first page) with links to the main site, survey site and the trad site so they can go where they want.
You guys can promote it, get members and basically call it your own.
What do you think?

Sound good ,but we need someone like Pete and Cdnarcher to help in starting that site "Withtheir knowledge in bows and accessories and my knowledge in hunting we might activate such a trad site.
What do you think Scott?

I disagree, a seperate site isn't needed. Here's my thinking, we're all bow hunters and we all have overlaping interests. By seperating ourselves we divide our political clout, which is small to begin with. I'm still reading the other forums on this site as I get valuable info from some of the ideas. Let's stick together guys, united we stand divided we fall.

Ok I understand what you want to do. I think it would help if we would take a few minutes every now and then to post a link on other sites where possible. I posted on accurate reloading.com and it's had something like 60 views already, that was only a couple days ago. Traditional archers are a small number of the archers population so we should be content with um... a little less traffic in our little room. The more people we can attract who have actual experience rather than people with book experience the better. I also think that when people ask questions we should try our best to offer good informative answers, this keeps the caliber of the forum high. The higer the standards we hold ourselves to the better it will become. I'd also like to see a shooting clinic for traditional shooters, but I wonder how many would actually make an effort to attend? Seems not too many are interested in making a stickbow, I tried to get that one started and not much interest. I also was willing to do a meat cutting demonstration, seems everyone says they're interested, until push comes to shove and no one wants to get a carcass to work on.

Calgary chief,if we only could interest all the Canadian stickbow hunter that are on other site
There are at least 15 on tradgang.com,
about 20 on archery talk.
about 10 on archery,com
and all the other site that ohold a few,it would be fantastic.
Here in Quebec, there is at least 30 trad.hunter if not more, medieval shooters, guys like me who feel compound bow is not a bow .
!?,just got an idea if I go on those site and put Bowzone.ca as a signature
might work. :o

Hey you guys....Thanks for workin on building this part of The BowZone.
I've just been so busy with Wild TV, I haven't had much time to work on the new site, but it's getting closer....I got a fair amount done on it this weekend.
What would really help is some traditional content...stories, tuning information, how to's, things like that....That will bring more people to the site as well.
Thanks for all your help you guys....

you could try and drum up some interest from the Traditional bowhunters of British Columbia website.....they have 130+ registered members, heres a link!
http://tbbc.kics.bc.ca/membership.htm
I have always been a compounder but recently since my daughter got a recurve the whole family has decided to do both compound and traditional so I will try and pop in and support this section as much as i can!

Thank Chris.went to bc site, nothing mooving there but will try to link them to our site.
Warden, the problem people comment is they did'nt know there was a traditional archery forum,Home page should reflect the index of all the forums on Bowzone.ca,then advertising. If people want to go to a forum they just have to click on it and bypass all that don't interest them. Now ,we have to click on forum, then waiting time, then index, still waiting time, then run all the forum until they find what they are looking for, click on it ,wait again untill they get on forum.About 45 sec.to a minute waiting at high speed internet ,quite long. There are other web site with 10 time more members and you can get in in less then 3 sec.
Waiting is frustating and push away members to other site.

Hi Guys:
I'm the webmaster for the Alberta Traditonal Bowhunters Association. The bowzone is helping by supplying a Trad Forum for us to use.
I will email a link to all our members. Maybe we can get a few more involved.

Now's your chance to get some input on the way the new forums are set up.
We would like to make a trad only section under the Archery forums but need to know what sections you would like.
Let's hear your suggestions! I want to make this the best archery / hunting / outdoors site on the net for Canadians...INCLUDING THE TRADITIONAL GUYS AND GALS...and kids too!!

Hey there Guys.
Haven't been on for awhile just thought i'd check in.
I really like the idea of improving the traditional forum of bowzone. the american sites have alot of advantage over us in sheer numbers. This site is fairly new and it does take time to build a base of supporters. But it can be done and i really appreciate the effort that you guys are putting into this.
just some ideas
-I agree with shooting clinics and other tech help forums. In the states the have clinics just for traditional shooters. It seems like every time i see a poster on shooting clinics it is with compound shooters. Traditional clinics could help introduce new people to our pasttime, and really help others who are struggling.
- Maybe add a "round the fire" forum or something of that nature where traditionalist can go to just ask whats on their mind or just random conversations. one thing i find with bowzone period is that everything has to do with a certain topic instead of just normal conversation. Maybe i just can't find it
- Also if there was a link for all the Traditional clubs and their websites it could help with people meeting others in their neihborhood. As well it would be a centeral place to find out about traditional events.
Just some ideas to maybe help out.
