Ok everyone! We have a sneak peek for you all on the new bowzone.ca site. It's going to be packed with features, information and new forums. It's also going to be living on the new servers that I have sitting here in my office for the moment while I move the info and build the new site. I won't bore you with the details but it's FAST! Can't wait.
Please make sure you guys all give your input now while the new site is being made. What things do you want to see on the site.
Here's what the new site is going to look like.

New site server was due in end of september and in feb.2005 we still are with a dinosaurus mamouth Cromayon server.Turtles are faster than the site .
Any comments? This is a good reason why the site is empty .Even moderatorsa goes to other site. Not good ,Realy not good.
Just my comments

Can't wait Warden.
I guess my joining and asking the question was the reason for such a quick response?
Seeing how I have high speed, this site is really slow (pity those on dial up) and slow sites disappear quickly.
Once the faster server is up, I'll post over at Huntontario and The Ontario Hunting Lodge about the speed up. I'm sure you'll see more activity.

Warden should be dubbed the Grand Master of web publishing!

It may be because I'm sitting by a bright window as I view the page.
However, red, maroon and black are normally too close in the colour spectrum (thus the military red lights).
What I think is most annoying is the lack of apparent separation between forums or topics. I cannot clearly see the little lines that separate them.
Finally, perhaps the font used or deepness of the white a makes them a little blury.
But, perhaps it's just me!

Hey Mike...it's going well....We've pulled access to it for the moment as we're installing a new console for added security on the back end of things...getting the mail servers working and running properly.
We are going to be opening this server array to allow people to host their hunting companies/hunting websites on it and there's some programming that needed to be done.
We've also put in the new content software as well and are busy wrapping it around the look of the new site.....so we're getting closer...

They don't go on Bowzone.ca cause it is too long to get in.
Never have more than 3 members on forum per day.

taureaunoir, relax. Building a new site is alot of work. Nobody involved in Bowzone makes any money doing this, but it sure costs alot of money to run. That money comes from our pockets.
Have you ever heard this saying:
Good things come to those who wait.

At my age and my medical situation can't wait long.lol
Don't get offended,it is just that meanwhile we loose members and the site is going down the drain.

Of course we will loose members if you keep running around and bellyaching about how slow it is and how we are loosing members left right and center.
Believe me, I want this new sight up and running just as bad as anyone else, but I am not bad mouthing Bowzone publicly for the lack of progress. I bad mouth Warden in private conversations. Eventually, we will get it done. Until then, be patient and it will be worth your while.

CDARCHER,I am not badmouthed but I reflect the reality,ON march the 14
there was 5 members on the whole forum, and it took me 15min. to see it.I want as bad as you to have this site running but we need tool to do it.
If you look at how many post I did lately I outrun any member in trying to revive that forum.
Most other post are done by Bowzone.ca staff.

If it takes you 15 minutes to load, then you have an extremely bad internet connection.

Cdarcher,it took me 15min.to find out through all the posts how many members participated yesterday.
I tink we can do a lot better then an all time 9 members on a day,no?
As a Canadian it hurt me to see that so many canadians goes on american site when you and I knows we have a site waiting for them.
Archery talk is not better in what we are looking in a forum but due to the web site speed they get a lot of members involvments in posts.
I hate to see them cross the border!
Sorry if I was harsh but we have to get ready soon.

I for one don`t think it slow cause if you are on here you have time to waste so what does it matter at the speed.

Well, I, for one, can wait. As for taurianoitall, maybe you should start up your own site, maybe call it twilightzone. Just to see how "easy" it is to please more than just yourself. Keep up the good work Warden and the rest of the bowzone staff!

Ok guys....enough...the new site will be up when it's up. that's it.
I am working on it and will get it done soon. My linux guru is still finishing up the new servers and development of the new site is going along. As you all saw, we have the skin on the interactive part of the site finished and we're now working on the front end so all of the excellent information that we have on here is available when we launch the new site. It takes a ton of time to transfer all of the thousands of pages over.
So, no more bickering about it...it will be done when it's done. If you all can't leave this topic alone, I'll lock the damn thing.
Please bear with us.

Hey Warden, don't hurry on my account. I like it fine the way it is, I read real slow anyway and you're usually way ahead of me. Like someone else mentioned earlier, if we're browsing around here we can't be that busy anyway, so what's a little extra time?
I frequent some of the other bigger, faster, flashier sites too, but man do I feel like I'm out of the loop there, there's like a zillion guys who all know each other closer than Redneck cousins. I'm afraid to post there in case I bring down the horde of pirhanas on me because somebody already asked that question 5 days and 1 million posts earlier. The large numbers of participants on some of the other sites seems to bring out the worst in people, man some real mud-slinging goes on there. Us bow-shooters don't need to get scrapping amongst ourselves, we can find other worthier causes to fight about I would think. This site is like some small town hospitality in the big world of the internet.
Any improvements you make are fine Warden, and if you don't get around to it that's okay too. Keep up the good work, I've got some real good info off of this slow old site.
