Hey guys I'm pretty new to archery. I tried it in Gym class a few years ago, and absolutely loved it. Anyways, I just made my first Bow over the long weekend, and it's pretty cool. Do any of you guys have any experience with making bows? Also I made a few arrows, but they're not too great... Anyone here have any tips on making arrows?

It is adicting, now that you made a shooter you won't want to stop.
I made about 10 last year, and have enough staves for a dozen more for this year. Getting material is hard, but there are some good bows being made from Maple and red Oak boards. I prefer split staves, but they are hard to get in Alberta.
How about some pictures of your bow? And tell us more about it.

Arrows are not to hard to make if you get decent shafts.Matching spine and weight is the main issue.

Bow and Arrow making is very addictive...I have made many over the last few years and have managed to sell a handfull aswell....there are a few companies out there that you can get supplies from some in Canada (Rodeny Wright in Quebec) and in the US aswell....wether you want to make a bow from a stave or lamanate or board all can be done with minimal tools just takes time as with arrows....

What kind of bow did you make? board bow, self bow, laminate...do you know the draw weight?

A pic would be great...
