My friends and I are starting into target shooting with recurve bows. After doing some research, I'm looking at a Samick Sage for myself, and a Samick Polaris for my fiancée (she wants something in the 20-25# range). We prefer the feel of a wooden riser, and for the price both bows seem to be well received. Unfortunately we haven't been able to find any dealers locally here in Ottawa that deal with Samick, and thus I am looking to order online.

The only thing holding me back, is that I'm having trouble determining which length of Polaris to get for my fiancée.

I've measured her draw length to be 25.5". Apparently the lengths available on the Polaris are 48", 54", 58", 64", 62", 66", 68", and 70". Can anyone give me any suggestions what would be ideal for her draw length, or at least how to calculate draw length from bow length?

Much Appreciated.

If you get her a bow that is 25 pounds @ 28 inches and she draws 25 1/2 inches , she would be getting about 19 pounds out of the bow.
Usually you can figure about 3 pounds per inch. From the info you've given, You would need to get a 30 pound bow for her to get 23 pounds out of the bow.
Note: Some bows for women or youth may be measured at 26 inches Ect. Either way I would figure 3 pounds per inch/ I would recommend 58 or 60 inche bow for her. For a beginner I would not suggest a shorter bow example: If you draw 28 inches , I would recommend a 62 or 64 inch bow to start.....once you get some practice and your form is developed then you may want to go to a shorter bow.

For her pull weight, I'll be taking her to a local shop and having her pull some samples to find what she feels comfortable with (unfortunately none of the affordable clubs in the area we've found have equipment rentals).

I was thinking 58" length was likely right. Thanks for the info!
