Got my turkey thanks to Kevin Brayford's calling. Lot's of walking for this bird, seemed like we climbed a mountain or 2, or 3. I can't believe how spooky these birds can be! Brenda's bird is bigger by quite a bit, but I think I "lost" the photo :wink:

Love calling in them turkeys, this one came from well up the mountain and took a good 1/2 hour to come in. It had to cross some windblown trees before getting to our decoys and hopped up on them and strutted back and forth for a bit putting on quite a show. He didn't want to enter the clearing and give a good shot. Russ had to turn a bit before he could shoot as it didn't look like the tom was going to come in. Bird took off at full speed (and boy can they run). First shot missed (behind):286: and the second caught up with him :super_hap:. Not sure if Russ's turning on the bird or shaking with excitement gave him away but he closed the deal in the end.

Kevin you deserve just as much credit. If it hadn't been for your calling it would never have happened! I really doubt that I could have closed the deal if I had been on my own.
