I Just received the first ever Bow blank from Chek-Mate to try my hand at.

It looks like we will be able to shape our own version of the new "Beaver Creek" Longbows Marc is introducing.

This blank is a glue up only. No shaping has been done other than the limbs are cut .

It should make a nice bow for my Grand Daughter .The Yew limbs look great already.

He may be offering the blanks in a closer to complete version also, with the shelf cut in and the grip roughed out.

Looks like a fun project for you, may I ask how much it run for a blank? are they been backed? Of course how to order because Chek Mate is in Abbotsford, only 45mins from me but I don't have their address.

Thanks

Edmond

Chek-mate has moved across the straight to Port Albernie, Marc is now the owner, not just the bowyer.
The blanks are available thru Dennis at www.Git-r-donearchery.com in Calgary. They are a glass bow blank, this one has clear glass over some great Yew .
Dennis will have a couple in stock this week.

Thanks Pete! Too bad they were no longer in Abbotsford, I never got a chance to meet this great bowyer during my limited archery life.

Thanks. It was not that dificult at all, after I got up the nerve to start removing wood.It is actualy easier than making a self bow.

Yes I agree to remove excess wood but maintain each side equaly balance is the most diffcult part. I draw so many lines on my board bow to file them inorder to make it both side equal, it took three weeks and haven't gone down to 30 lbs.
